Delichon Helps Local School stage Talent Show

For the 3rd year in a row Delichon has provided the sound and lighting equipment to enable a local academy school to stage its annual talent contest. The stage at the Burgate School and Sixth Form in Fordingbridge was transformed using the aluminium gantry and lighting usually found forming the structure of our large exhibition stands. PA equipment more commonly used for our conferences and training events also came in handy as we worked hard to provide a venue for the show worthy of the amazing talents of the contestants. With the addition of a little smoke (well quite a lot of smoke as it turned out) the venue was truly ready to rock and Burgate’s Got Talent 2014 could begin!

Semi-Final night on the 14th March saw 18 acts battle it out for a place in the final. The 10 successful acts then had a second chance to wow the crowd and the judges and win the coveted BGT title a week later, March 21st. The standard was extremely high and in the end the crown went to Year 9 singer/songwriter Nia Nicholls. In second place came the incredibly talented 6th Form folk band Tumbleweed and 3rd place a colourful Indian dance routine from a Year 7 student Sona Jose.

It was a lot of hard work from the Delichon Stage Crew, but a fantastic opportunity to give something back to our local community as well as a chance to show how well we can work together even when we are completely outside our usual area of expertise.
